Brothers of the Sun Concert in Cincy

I spent a really fun long weekend in Cincinnati with some dear friends of mine. On Sunday, we sent to see the Brothers of the Sun concert in Paul Brown Stadium, featuring Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw.

We had a wild weather weekend in Cincinnati with extremely hot temperatures and crazy “pop-up” storms that seemed to come out of nowhere! Just as we arrived at the concert, there was a torrential downpour accompanied by thunder and lightning—the rain was coming down in sheets! Not surprisingly, the concert was put on hold and everyone was asked to take take cover until the storm passed. While we were waiting for the show to start up again, we had fun people-watching—lots of cowboy boots and cowboy hats, as you might imagine, along with some very (ahem!) interesting outfits…

After about a half hour or so the storm did pass and once we finally found our seats, the weather had cooled considerably and we were treated to this beautiful evening sky:

It was a really high-energy concert, and Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney put on a great show. Here’s a photo of Kenny singing while suspended above the crowd (!):

Here’s a another shot of him on the jumbotron singing his little country music heart out!

Grace Potter, along with Jake Owen, were the opening acts and sang with Kenny, but the biggest surprise of the night was a guest appearance by Bret Michaels, of Poison, 80s hair band fame! I must say that my friend who had purchased our concert tickets was pretty excited about this development. Bret, Kenny C, and Grace Potter sang a rousing rendition of “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”—and the crowd loved it!

It was a really fun summer concert, we had a great time, and it was awesome to be in Cincy again!
